I just installed XBMC on my XBOX last night and played with it this morning to my great satisfaction. However, this afternoon I have a problem in that when I try to access my network with the SMB option for either pictures, movies, or music, it locks up. This feature was working flawlessly this morning. Everything else appears to be working fine as well. I FTP'd into it and removed XBMC and reloaded it. Still no improvement. Any ideas? We have an annual, fall and spring, ladybug infestation in North Carolina home in mountains. Millions of ladybugs get into the house, die, and must be vacuumed up. They are everywhere in the house. I am trying to fix my laptop which came with reinstalled vista and I do not have a installation cd because it was never given with the laptop. How do you go about creating HDR Tone Mapped images with moving subjects.. To tone map you should have at least two images @ different exposures, correct? If the subject is moving then you can't have two images with diff exposures..The 'cheater' way to do it is to shoot in RAW, and then you can change the exposure level in processing to get 3 (or more) different exposures to work with.yea, thats the way I figured, but I wasnt sure if it would work.. definately a kid. I don't understand how you can just draw a line and say you become an adult at a certain point. It takes time. I've started to notice a new problem this evening, even though I haven't upgraded my XBMC in a week or so (though I have been fooling around a lot with my music library). Here's what I did: I had an existing music library of about 800 songs that I was playing around with (downloading album info for). I scanned a remote share on my file server, which added about 1000 songs to the library. I rebooted the XBOX since the changes were not being reflected in my library (even after exiting and reopening the library). I went to the Albums view and started a batch album query. Okay, I'm 8 weeks and like 3 days pregnant, and NEVER get yeast infections so I'm a little freaked. Hi, I've been hacking on a hardware device that would act as a serial port on the xbox. It's basically a PIC processor that has an I2C (SMBus) interface on one end, and a serial port on the other. I actually haven't tested this on the XBox, but I've read things of the bus there, so I know it "should" be compatible. I've done my development on Linux with the standard I2C bus on most motherboard (thru the RAM socket). I've created the PIC application and a simple test-app in Linux C. In my old Minolta film SLR (which doesn't AF anymore sadly enough) I always noticed a different in my black and white photography when I shot in BnW film, versus shooting in color and converting it later. The BnW film contrasted a LOT more, and was generally sharper. My question is, in digital, is there any difference between setting my camera to BnW mode (canon A610 right now) or doing it post process... I personally use Picasa 2 for my general touch ups like that. I want to make sure my Black and White REALLY pops, but if there is no difference, then I guess its better to shoot in color, in case I want to do something different. I just installed XBMC on my XBOX last night and played with it this morning to my great satisfaction. However, this afternoon I have a problem in that when I try to access my network with the SMB option for either pictures, movies, or music, it locks up. How do you go about creating HDR Tone Mapped images with moving subjects.. To tone map you should have at least two images @ different exposures, correct? I've started to notice a new problem this evening, even though I haven't upgraded my XBMC in a week or so (though I have been fooling around a lot with my music library). Here's what I did: I had an existing music library of about 800 songs that I was playing around with (downloading album info for). I scanned a remote share on my file server, which added about 1000 songs to the library. I rebooted the XBOX since the changes were not being reflected in my library (even after exiting and reopening the library). I went to the Albums view and started a batch album query. Hi, I've been hacking on a hardware device that would act as a serial port on the xbox. It's basically a PIC processor that has an I2C (SMBus) interface on one end, and a serial port on the other. I actually haven't tested this on the XBox, but I've read things of the bus there, so I know it "should" be compatible. I've done my development on Linux with the standard I2C bus on most motherboard (thru the RAM socket). I've created the PIC application and a simple test-app in Linux C. I'm pretty sure you can access the XBox I2C bus in XBMC (I think I looked up that in the XBMC source code, remember it's called SMBus on PCs/XBOXs, basically compatible). In my old Minolta film SLR (which doesn't AF anymore sadly enough) I always noticed a different in my black and white photography when I shot in BnW film, versus shooting in color and converting it later. The BnW film contrasted a LOT more, and was generally sharper. My question is, in digital, is there any difference between setting my camera to BnW mode (canon A610 right now) or doing it post process... I personally use Picasa 2 for my general touch ups like that. I want to make sure my Black and White REALLY pops, but if there is no difference, then I guess its better to shoot in color, in case I want to do something different.
